Trainer Profile
A multiple stakes-winning jockey and winner of the coveted John Letts Medal in 2021, Jess Tzaferis (nee Eaton) embarked on a training career in late-2024 when she successfully applied for a dual license.
Having worked closely with several of the country's premier stables during a successful career in the saddle, Jess has built the necessary skills and experience to be able to take the next step in her thoroughbred journey.
With a deep understanding for horses born out of equitation science, Jess' training philosophy blends old school horsemanship with modern training techniques to get the best out of her horses. Operating under A dual-license, Jess will continue to ride the horses she trains in trackwork and at the races. This will allow her first-hand insight into the fitness, progression and mindset of each horse in work.
Based near Murray Bridge, the stable will have access to the state-of-the-art facilities at Thomas Farms Racecourse Murray Bridge, including multiple turf and synthetic training tracks, an uphill gallop track and an equine swimming pool, as well as endless kilometres of natural bush tracks nearby.
Jess celebrated her first win as a trainer with a Metropolitan victory with Royal Fox at Morphettville in March 2025.
