Exciting three-year-old Snoopy Now will be out to continue what has been a lucrative couple of months for Murray Bridge horseman Darryl Hewitt at Flemington on Saturday.
Snoopy Now and stablemate Sir Now have been in impressive form, Hewitt having produced five winners from his past 15 runners.
Snoopy Now broke his maiden status when he came off the speed to cause an upset win in the Listed Port Adelaide Guineas at Morphettville in April.
He was then beaten three lengths in the Group 3 Chairman’s Stakes at Morphettville before finishing 8.57 lengths behind Femminile in the Group 1 SA Derby over 2500m, bouncing back to form with an impressive 1.55 length Murray Bridge last time out back over a mile.
He’s banked his owners $185,345 from just 11 starts while his stablemate Sir Now has proven an equally astute purchase having won five of his 11 starts including a last-start dead-heat at Morphettville last weekend.
The pair were purchased from a Cornerstone Stud dispersal sale for just $9,000 and have earnt just shy of $400,000 in less than 12 months after debuting at Murray Bridge in the same race last July.
