Training a winner on a Group 1 race day is no small feat — training two, both at double-figure odds, is something else entirely. Morphettville based trainer Chris Bieg enjoyed a standout Derby Day, landing early blows with Voltage Point and Annihilate scoring strong victories.
Both horses were smart buys. Voltage Point was picked up by Bieg for just $25,000 at the 2022 Adelaide Magic Millions Yearling Sale and has now banked over $200,000. Annihilate was a $40,000 purchase from the 2023 Inglis April Online Sale, and he too has cleared $210,000 in earnings since joining the stable.
It was a day to remember for the team, proving that you don’t need to break the bank to find a winner.. Bieg was also a key part in the Price-Kent yard's successful carnival, with Bieg caring for that stable's horses whilst in stabled in Adelaide.
