Description

We welcome another granddaughter of Zoustar, by Zousain to the stable. This filly has great size about her, with a deep girth, good reign and a great walk. As a team, we believe we were able to capitalise on the current market in Adelaide to get this quality filly at a great price for our owners.

Zousain was a precocious son of the hugely successful stallion, Zoustar. Widden Stud, who stand both stallions, report Zousain to be a near physical replica of his sire. He was a Group 2 winner and Group 1 placed at age 2, and at age 3 had a very similar path as his sire, running close seconds in the Golden Rose and Coolmore and matching form with the likes of Sunlight and The Autumn Sun. With a difference in service fee of $250,000, Zousain represents incredible value for those seeking strength, speed and quality in their yearling purchases.

The dam, Love Lucille has four foals on the ground before this filly. Two have already raced with success and the other two are unraced rising 2 and 3-year-olds. She herself is a half to the Group 2 winner Scarlet Rain, who won 3 races in succession as a 2-year-old over the sprint distances, including the ATC Sweet Embrace Stakes. There is plenty of black type through the 3rd dam line also with the broodmare Pause, who has produced 7 winners from to runners, and starting a long legacy of Group performers through her family tree, most notably the multiple Group winner Military Zone, including the Hawkesbury & Gosford Guineas, and multiple other Group level placings.

The sire and dam combination should give this filly every chance to present as a 2-year-old despite going through a later sale. Physically she has the size and forward attitude to progress quickly through the stables. Her walk out is as impressive as any, we feel she is one that snuck under the radar late in the day at Adelaide and presents excellent value to the astute buyer with good residual value potential.
