Description
Exceptional buying at this price for a filly who presented so well at the sales, essentially paying the 2025 service fee of the stallion. Lovely shoulder and hindquarter and just overall well put together, we really couldn’t fault her on confirmation. Another great example of the value you can obtain with a first season sire, this filly possesses a strong speed line through Written Tycoon.
Her sire, Captivant, was a fast and precocious 2-year-old, son of the Golden Slipper and 2yo Magic Millions winner, Capitalist. Captivant was versatile, possessing the speed to win the 1000m Victory Vein Plate as a pre-Christmas 2-year-old, and the class to win the ATC Champagne Stakes at 1600m later that season. As a 3-year-old, he stretched the champion Anamoe, running a narrow 2nd in the Caulfield Guineas, a well-renowned sire making race.
Soosa Rama was a 4-time-winner, managing to string together three in succession. The key to the pedigree analysis here is through her siblings, with a strong stakes grade presence through the 2nd dam, Make My Dane. This proven broodmare has a great record of producing fillies that produce stakes winners, with two of her offspring producing 3 stakes grade horses, most notably the multiple Group winner of over $1.2 million in prizemoney, Elliptical. The pattern continues through the 3rd dam San Secola, who has an excellent winner to runner ratio, but again a noted producer of fillies that produce stakes performers.
She’s great buying. A great opportunity to take a larger share without breaking the bank or race with a group of family and friends as majority owners.
