Chris Bieg

A relative newcomer to training, Chris gained his license in 2011 and set his stable up with just two horses, since then the up and coming trainer has not looked back. Bieg is a shrewd operator who has found some diamonds at relatively low price points, including Excites Zelady who was purchased for just $27,000 and went on to win the Group 3 Breeders Plate as well as the Listed Murray Bridge Gold Cup three times and has won a total of $559,790 in prize money. More recently Chris has enjoyed success with Free of Debt who ran third in the 2019 Group 1 Blue Diamond.

Prior to beginning his training career Bieg managed Oliver's Pets and Plants for over 11 years, an on-course fodder store at Morphettville. During his time at Oliver's, Bieg gained a high level of understanding of horses nutritional requirements, and had the opportunity to work with some of Victorian and South Australian leading horse trainers.
